Overall Operation Manager – Resident: In charge of the overall drilling operations of the company, and ensuring high level of quality service to the customers, adding value to their operations, and responsible to ensure effective operations of all functions within the management department to meet the targets of the company. The position also requires management of resources as well as administrative and technical support to the field. Assisting in FEED(Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning).

Division Manager – Resident : Managing drilling, workover, well services, production and maintenance operations & engineering and reporting to the client. Recruiting & training local personnel. Initiating a production enhancement program, implementing several well revival & stimulation techniques. Initiated well re-entry & re-activation plans. Optimizing drilling & workover & intervention & production operations. Rationalize staffing levels. Introduce new technology & methodologies. Set & meet budget levels. Assisting in FEED(Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning).

Rig Manager – Resident: The Rig Manager is responsible for the safe, economic and efficient operation of the rig in accordance with ADC Rig Management System (RMS) and in a manner that meets or exceeds the client expectations.

Rig Superintendent OIM Offshore Installation Manager (Offshore Rigs): manages Company’s interest at the rig site in respect to our clients, the well program and all personnel on board the rig. The rig Superintendent is the overall responsible person for QHSE, Maintenance, Drilling Operations, Personnel (including sub-contractors) , Assets protection, management, Monitor vessel stability, Plan operations with barge control, Supervise and perform jacking operation.

Rig Superintendent/toolpusher: Called also in other companies as a Rig Manager he is the location overall rig site supervisor for the oil and gas drilling contractor. The tool pushers supervise and co-ordinate the activities of drill rig crew engaged in drilling for oil or gas, operating service rigs, or providing oil and gas well services.

The toolpusher is usually a senior experienced individual who has worked his way up through the ranks of the drilling crew positions. The toolpusher job is largely administrative, including ensuring that the oil rig has sufficient materials, spare parts and skilled personnel to continue efficient operations. The toolpusher also serves as a trusted advisor to many personnel on the rig site, including the operator’s representative, the company man.

** Qualification/Experience: At least 8 years experience on land/offshore drilling rigs. Of these 8 years, at least 2 years must be Assistant Rig Superintendent or Rig Superintendent on a similar type rig.

  • The individual has safety, communication and supervisory skills.
  • Proficient in computer, confident with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point.
  • The individual must have completed the following training and experience; company’s modular training and certification requirements.
  • Must have IWCF Supervisor level certificate within date.
  • SIPP.

Assistant Rig Superintendent: Supervises drilling operation and ensure that the operation is conducted safely and efficiently. Manages the Rig site training and certification for all rig personnel. Acts for Rig Supt when so designates.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • At least 6 years experience in land or offshore Drilling Operation, with at least 2 years experience as a driller (or above) on a similar rig type.
  • Must have a well control certificate (IWCF Supervisor level).
  • Must have completed the company’s modular training and certification requirements.

Driller (Land Rig): Responsible for the operation of the drill floor including drawworks, mud circulating systems, rotary system and BOP equipment and supervision of the drilling crew.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Must have minimum 5 years experience in drilling operations; at least 3 years as an Assistant Driller using similar equipments.
  • Must have completed the company’s certification requirements.
  • STOP for Supervisors.
  • SIPP.
  • H2S.
  • Proficient in using Top Drive systems.
  • Proficient in nipple up 10k BOP’s systems.
  • Experienced in operating 2000HP drawworks.
  • Must have completed company training (as mentioned in Training Matrix) and hold current certification in Well Control (IWCF Supervisor level) and First Aid.

Cyber Driller (Offshore Rig): Who is responsible for the safe operation of Cyberbase system, Drawworks, pipe handling systems, mud circulating systems and BOP equipment in accordance with the requirements specified in the operating procedures, the drilling program and the Senior Toolpusher instructions.
He must be present in the Driller’s Cabin at all times while connected to the Well unless relieved by an authorized person.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Must have minimum 5 years experience in drilling operations; at least 3 years as an Assistant Driller using similar equipment.
  • Must have completed the Company’s certification requirements. (STOP for Supervisors, SIPP, H2S, Safety leadership, Offshore survival (HUET) course, Firefighting, and First Aid).
  • Proficient in using Top Drive systems.
  • Proficient in nipple up 10K BOP’s Drawworks.
  • Must hold current certification in Well Control (IWCF Supervisor level).

Assistant Driller (Land Rig): Assisting the driller in drilling operations and lead and training the drilling crew.

Assistant Driller (Offshore Rig): Assisting the driller in drilling operations and lead and training the drilling crew. (In cyber rig will take part of Floorman and Derrickman jobs)

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Must have IWCF certificate Driller’s level.
  • Must have prior experience on similar type rig of at least a year as a Derrickman or Assistant Driller or have drilled on a large oilfield drilling rig.
  • Must have completed certification program to required level.

Derrickman: is one of the drill rig crew members who gets his name from the fact that during trips he works on a platform attached to the derrick or mast, typically 85 ft (26 m) above the drill rig floor. On small land drilling crews, the derrickman is second in rank to the driller. Larger offshore crews may have an assistant driller between the derrickman and the driller. In a typical trip out of the hole (TOH), the derrickman wears a special derrickman safety harness that enables him to lean out from the work platform (called the monkey board) to reach the drill pipe in the center of the derrick or mast, throw a line around the pipe and pull it back into its storage location (the fingerboards) until it is time to run the pipe back into the well. In an emergency, the derrickman can quickly reach the ground by an escape line often called the Geronimo line.

Handles tubular while working in the derrick. Operates and maintains solids control equipment.

Pumpman (Offshore Rig): Part of the drilling crew only in offshore rig and he is responsible for mud system and maintaining the mud pumps.

Operate and maintain drilling fluids system and pumping system.

Floorman/Roughneck: Assist the well operator in rigging up and rigging down, pulling/laying down rods, tubing, and casing, and other functions. May be required to work the derrick or operate the rig if needed.

Handles tubular and drill tools using drill floor equipment.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Should have intermediate school certificate and good writing & reading Arabic.
  • Should have Basic English communication.
  • Should have experience as a Roustabout in a drilling company.
  • Must satisfactorily complete company’s certification requirements.

Roustabout: Roustabouts work as part of a small team on offshore oil or gas drilling rigs or production platforms. Roustabouts do unskilled manual labouring jobs on rigs and platforms and roughneck is a promotion from roustabout. Continuous bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items; frequently requires the ability to lift and move heavy and bulky objects without assistance.

Requires continuous walking and standing for several hours in a day regardless of weather or conditions. The environment can be dusty and noisy. May have to handle tools with sharp edges and some tools and supplies may contain hazardous materials. Must be willing to work overtime. Safety and Environmental awareness. Work effectively with others.

Also Roustabouts carry out tasks, such as:

  • Cleaning, scraping and painting the deck, equipment and work areas
  • Offloading supplies from boats and moving them to storage areas
  • Mixing and conditioning drilling mud.

Roughnecks do practical tasks directly involved in the drilling operation, under the supervision of the driller or assistant driller.

Undertake cargo work, maintenance and general labor duties (above).

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Experienced with heavy, outdoor work.
  • Certified in lifting and rigging.
  • Fair knowledge of lifting gear equipment, and sizing.
  • Must satisfactorily complete company’s certification requirements.

Roustabout Pusher: He is the man in charge/leader of a group of Roustabout who are supporting the drilling crew and do rig maintenance job as well.

Chief Mechanic: The rig Chief Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance and field repair of all mechanical equipment on the rig, logistics equipment and camp in accordance with ADC Rig Management System (RMS).

Responsible for proper maintenance of all mechanical rig equipments including parts ordering and administration of the PMS system.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Industrial Mechanics Certificate or equivalent, with minimum work exposure to drilling field or related field, or 3 years minimum drilling field exposure as Chief Mechanic.
  • Able to demonstrated an ability to work independently under general supervision and ability to exercise leadership, setting proper and safe work example to junior personnel.
  • Must have completed company’s certification requirements.

Rig Mechanic: Part of the mechanical group who is following the Chief Mechanic for maintenance inspection and making daily reports.

Assist the Chief Mechanic with the maintenance, repairs and installation of all rig associated mechanical equipments.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Must have field experience (3-5 years) with similar diesel engines and equipment.
  • Must have completed company’s certification requirements.

Motorman (Offshore): Assist the Mechanic on duty in the proper maintenance of all rig equipments.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Must have one or more years, actual field experience as a diesel engine mechanic. Additional general mechanical experience is preferred.
  • Must have completed the company’s certification requirements.

Chief Electrician: The rig Chief Electrician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance and field repair of all electrical equipment on the rig, logistics equipment and camp in accordance with ADC Rig Management System (RMS).

Responsible for all rig electrical systems including maintenance, parts ordering and administration of PMS system.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Should have demonstrated ability to work independently under general supervision and ability to exercise leadership and set a safe work example to junior personnel.
  • Must have field experience (3-5 years) with similar electrical installation; preferably oilwell drilling rig. If experience is not on oilwell drilling rig, a period of familiarization will be required.
  • Must have completed company’s certification requirements.

Rig Electrician: Part of the electrical group who is following the Chief Electrician for maintenance inspection and making daily reports.

Assist the Chief Electrician with the installation, maintenance and repairs of all rig associated electrical equipments.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Must have demonstrated and ability to work independently under general supervision.
  • Must have industrial electrician’s certificate or equivalent.
  • Has adequately demonstrated to a supervisor through on-the-job experience and ability to competently and safely perform the tasks as an electrician.
  • Must have complete company’s certification requirements.

Captain (Offshore Rig): Called also as Master & Rig Mover, Man in charge of the self propelled vessel/rig while the rig is floating. Otherwise, the MIC is the SDS Rig Superintendent legally responsible for the seaworthiness and safety of the vessel. Supervises all marine operations of Barge Control and ensures that operation is conducted safely and efficiently.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Has accumulated at least 8 years experience on marine department of Offshore Drilling Rigs or Marine vessels holding valid unlimited Master License.
  • Must have completed the company’s training and certification requirements.

Chief Mate (Offshore Rig): Assistant to the Captain.

Barge Engineer (Offshore Rig): Called also as Barge Captain, Supervises all operations of Barge Control and ensure that operation is conducted safely and efficiently.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • At least 5 years experience in offshore mobile drilling units.
  • Must have completed the company’s modular training and certification requirements.

Chief Engineer: The job functions as Chief Mechanic who is looking for the jacking system and the stability of the offshore rig.

Mud Engineer (Offshore Rig):  Responsible of mud planning, preparations and handling as per the client requirements.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • B. Sc in Petroleum Engineering or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years experience in drilling and workover operation in oil industry.
  • Completed drilling fluid course.
  • Well Control Certificate (Recommended).
  • Familiarization in OBM, WBM such as Glydril, Bentonite, Polymer.. etc.
  • Good in Computer knowledge and English.

Electronic Technician (Cyber Offshore Rig): Responsible for the inspection, maintenance and field repair of all electronic (Cyber Base) system and equipments, in accordance with ADC Rig Management System (RMS).

** Qualification/Experience:

  • B E Electrical or Electronics with minimum 2 to 3 years experience in the similar position.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Should be able to handle PLC programming and trouble shooting (statement logic).
  • Must have a good knowledge of AC & DC drives (ABB & Siemens).
  • SCADA knowledge, computer net working.
  • Computer literate and shall be able to work with Microsoft Access Data Base (MDB), C++.
  • Familiarized with Generator and AC motor controls.

Radio Operator (Offshore Rig): Operates all rig communication gear.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Hands-on experience working as a GMDSS Radio Operator with at least 2 years experience in offshore rigs.
  • In-depth knowledge of GMDSS Radio Maintenance Practices and Procedures.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Uncommon ability to pass on information effectively.
  • Remarkable ability to adapt to different environments and situations.
  • Ability to clearly enunciate in English.
  • Ability to interact with individuals in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Rig Medic: Administers emergency first aid.  Provides routine minor health services. Maintain Rig clinic and controls all drugs and medical supplies.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Must be certified as Paramedic, nurse, or equivalent.
  • On ne or more years experience in trauma treatment is preferred.
  • Must have completed company certification requirements.
  • Minimum typing skills (20 wpm) and basic computer skills are necessary.

Warehouseman (Storekeeper): Manage Rig Based material acquisition including warehouse control, material orders and inventory.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Must have prior warehousing experience (two years) suitable to meet company.
  • Computer operation skills preferred.
  • Necessary for new employees to satisfactorily complete on the job training to become acquainted with employer’s particular system.

Crane Operator: He is the person who is operating the cranes off-loading back- loading and acting team leader in behave of the Barge Captain, in offshore rigs.

Operation and maintenance of rig cranes, and directs Roustabouts.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Must have crane operator experience on large cranes (50-70tons) preferably offshore.
  • Must have completed company’s certification requirements.
  • When applicable, must be officially certified by a recognized person/committee.

Welder: Performs maintenance and fabrication welding.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Must have knowledge and skills of ship repair, pipe fitting fabrication.
  • Must have current welding certification as required by the company.
  • Must be able to read drawings.
  • Must be able to weld stainless and other alloy steels.

Driver: Performing all driving tasks, loading and unloading materials, transporting of mails under the instructions of the location/rig site supervisor and try to keep the car in the best condition.

** Qualification/Experience:

  • Intermediate School Certificate, including the skill of reading and writing in Arabic.
  • Good Knowledge in Oral English.
  • Experience in Heavy Duty jobs (petroleum companies experience is preferred).
  • Passing all requirement of the employment.
